Who We Are
New Horizons 4 Youth & Families is a charity organization located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We aim to alleviate the struggles and help the situation of the needy, most especially the youth. It has always been our passion to serve others with the support of other people. Being able to impart something good in the life of the youth allows us and our team to continue this rewarding journey we have embarked on.
What We Do
Article IV – Purpose:
We provide a wide array of services to runaway and homeless youth, like crisis intervention, counseling, and mediation, as well as services to help youth pursue educational and career goals and develop independent living skills. We treat all youth and their families with dignity, respect, privacy, and utmost confidentiality.
To form and establish a Masjid (Mosque) for prayer and teaching of the Holy Quran, to revive the correct understanding and implementation of Al-Quran and As-Sunnah, to Serve and engage Muslims by promoting the progressive values and teaching of Islam and to advocate inter-faith harmony in a multicultural environment in accordance with the Holy Quran and Sunnah. To be a center of excellence for developing and sustaining a vibrant Islamic community and a nurturing environment for the society at large.
To provide a peaceful and family-oriented Islamic atmosphere based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (1’BUH) with the understanding of the Salaf (pious predecessors) for all Muslims. It is also to provide the necessary Islamic education for our community in general and particularly for our youth.
To provide the necessary tools to the Muslim community to observe and perform some of the basic obligations of Islam (including Salat and Burial) and help foster close relations between Muslims of all races, groups, and nationalities. It is also to provide the necessary education to adolescent couples and reconcile between them. Our vision is realized when all students achieve their full potential in life.
Arrange Halaqah refers to a group meeting or session where Muslims study topics of Islam or passages of the Quran. Often, a speaker is invited to present on the topic of the Halaqah, and those who attend listen, discuss, and ask questions.
The youth are involved in weekly halaqas, community work, trips, summer camps, and more.
In furtherance of its corporate purposes, the corporation shall have all the general powers enumerated in the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law, together with the power to solicit grants and contributions for corporate purposes. To accept, hold, invest, reinvest, and administer any gifts, bequests, devises, benefits of trusts (but not to act as trustee of any trust), and property of any sort without limitation as to amount or value and to use, disburse or donate the income or principal thereof exclusively for charitable purposes; to receive, establish, and maintain a fund or funds of real or personal property, or both, and subject to any restrictions and limitations hereinafter set forth, to use and apply the whole or any part of the income therefrom and principal thereof exclusively for charitable, scientific, and benevolent purposes either directly or by funding programs or projects that accomplish such charitable and benevolent purposes. Said organization is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

We are committed to providing the youth with the resources they need to achieve an improved quality of life. We understand their varied needs and want to become a part of their success in the future. Our ultimate goal is to become a vessel of change through what we teach them, so they can do the same thing to the next generation of young people.
